Samart School
Samart School is an entirely non-profit organization, so it relies on donations from generous benefactors in order to run. Monthly operating expenses include:
Electricity - $85/month
Light bulbs - $15/month
Teachers' pay - $80-100/month per teacher (staff of 7; plans to hire more in the future)
Stationary (marker ink, erasers, etc.) - $30/month
In addition to monthly expenditures, the school also requires money for its long-term needs.
The organization's most pressing long-term goal is to raise enough money to build permanent classrooms. Currently, Samart School operates in classrooms made from borrowed material. Since the materials must be returned in the near future, Education for Cambodia Organization needs to replace these with structures made with sturdy walls and concrete floors.
Other long-term goals include creating a scholarship fund to the school's brightest students.
If you would like to contribute, please send an email to the school (samartschool@yahoo.com) and let us know how much you want to send. The most effective way to get money to the school is by direct wire transfer to the school's bank account. The bank account information can be found below. Click on the link below to give.
